Opening Reception for Becky Field Exhibit - "Crying in the Wilderness: An Immigrant's Journey in Detention" In-Person
Crying in the Wilderness: An Immigrant's Journey in Detention
Becky Field, Photographer
This project and exhibit illustrate through powerful photographs, words and artwork, the emothional toll of detaining a person who legally asked for asylum at our southern border. "Antony" (a pseudonym for his protection) came from an African country in 2018. At that time, immigration policy allowed refugees to be shackled, chained and jailed for no offense other than asking for asylum.
